Greetings all. My name is BatiYah and I am a singer/songwriter and budding producer. I wanted to let you know that Berkley College of Music offers free music production and songwriting courses online through coursera.org. (As of this writing) the current Intro to Music production course is ending this week- 4-12-2013...They may pick up again, soon. Check out the site, if you like. Take care.

I live in the UK and I'm pretty sure that these free courses are too far away for me to attend, so what I have take to doing is learning mixing techniques off of Youtube. There are some pretty great DVDs out there available or they are pirated online for you to download, and they are great for teaching you how to mixdown a track.

I also produce my own music. What genre do you Produce?

Awesome! I'm always looking to increase my engineering know-how, and a more traditional approach may be helpful. Thanks for sharing <3

I must agree that Berkley college is good. However, Through my investigations regarding other schools in New York, there are many other. It all depends on what you like and how fast you are able to compute things to memory and learn. Do your research before committing. Remember, an educated individual always prospers.
