Stagelight - "The Easy Way To Create Music"
« on: April 10, 2013, 07:14:48 PM »

Anyone had a chance to try this out?

Features:
  • Record unlimited Audio and MIDI tracks.
  • Import WAV and MP3 files.
  • Elastique Time Stretching.
  • 3rd party VST Plugin Support (with crash protection and plugin delay compensation).
  • Multitimbral VST routing.
  • Easy Multitrack Export Option.
  • Supports ASIO compliant hardware.
  • Supports USB MIDI devices.
Might be a good alternative for anyone that wants to get started in digital production but doesn't want to pay for one of the more expensive DAWs.

I've got too much time and effort invested in Reason to start working in another DAW. It looks cool, but functionality is the critical factor of a music production software - not so much cosmetic features.

I agree, there won't be any complete switch over for me from my current system anytime soon, but I'll buy it and post back when I've checked it out, let you all know what's up.

I don't know how I feel about this. I would have to try it myself personally. The problem I have with DAWs that dumb everything down, is they are usually extremely limiting with what you can do. A lot of the times they will lack automation and important filters that you would need.

If the market someone is going after are people who are to dumb/lazy to use something as simple as FL Studio, the program probably isn't worth it. There is a reason the main 3 or 4 DAWs are used in professional studios.

I totally agree, in term of economically. It doesn't need much investment because it helps you a lot. I have been in the music industry for quite long time and still we are using traditionally way of creating music. We spend a lot of time to finish every single music and it pays all of time & money. Especially, if there's a lot of reorganizing, re-recording, and re-arranging the lyrics and sounds. Sigh!
